The new year’s first charity trip of Transport 24h Co.Ltd started early on January 5th. In addition to organizations, firms and individuals, trucks carrying 5 tons of donated goods went from Hanoi to Tuyen Quang to bring a warm spring to deprived children of Hong Quang Primary School (Hong Quang Commune, Lam Binh District, Tuyen Quang Province). This is an annual activity in the course of events of the second program “Connect the arms” with the theme “Bring spring to the children” hold by Lao dong va Xa hoi newspaper (baodansinh.vn). Tuyen Quang Province ‘s the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Radio and Television of Hanoi, local media, benefactors, organizations also participated in the charity trip.
This time Transport 24h Co.Ltd sponsored 100% of the transporting expenses to ship practical items for local children’s lives such as: milk, sweets, instant noodles, fish sauce, notebooks, clothes, shoes and so forth with the total value of nearly 500 million VND. The program also presented 100 gifts for 100 ethnic primary students with extremely deprived backgrounds and good academic performances. One of those students is Dang Thanh Phong. After his parents’ divorce, the ethnic Dao boy, who is currently in grade 3, has lived with his grandparents. Apart from studying at school, Phong spends most of his time helping his family with domestic chores and farm work. Despite the deprivation and difficulties in life, Phong has never been distracted from studying. Instead, he always tries his best in school work and is recognized as an excellent student of his class. The organizers also awarded the scholarship of 5 million VND to Nguyen Van An – an extremely disadvantaged student.
The geographical location, climate, economy, environment not only cause difficulties for local students but also affect teaching activities and local teachers’ living conditions. To share disadvantages and difficulties with teachers the program gave 20 million VND. This was encouragement and motivation with teachers to continue endeavor in teaching and devoting themselves to local students and education system of Tuyen Quang in particular and the country in general.
Do Van Duong, a driver of Transport 24h Co.Ltd said: “I feel very happy to contribute to this charity trip and to see the poor children who now have food and warm clothes to get through frigid cold. Hopefully, they will try hard to study and become responsible citizens in the future, partly leading to the prosperous development of the country. I will come back to visit them”./.
