On October 6, 2026, the road traffic situation across the country recorded a number of accidents obstructing traffic on national highways, while traffic management agencies strengthened measures to ensure safety against bad weather in the North and Central regions. Besides, many localities continue to implement propaganda programs to raise awareness of traffic law enforcement in the community.
1. Steel truck overturned on National Highway 1A through Da Nang, slow traffic jam
At dawn on October 6, two trucks collided on National Highway 1A through Hoa Xuan ward (City. Da Nang). After the collision, a steel truck overturned, goods spilled onto the road and blocked most of the two motorized lanes.

2. Vietnam Department of Roads requests to proactively respond to heavy rain and landslides
Before the forecast of cold air combined with heavy rain in many Northern and North Central provinces, the Vietnam Department of Roads has issued a document requesting Road Management Zones, Departments of Construction and Project Management Boards to fully prepare human resources, machinery and materials to handle problems on the routes.
Units are required to review points at risk of landslides and deep flooding, arrange forces on duty 24/24 hours to ensure smooth traffic, and at the same time ensure the safety of works under construction.
3. Promote traffic safety propaganda in schools
Many localities continue to organize activities to propagate the law on traffic order and safety for students in the new school year.
In Lam Dong, the police force of Nam Thanh commune coordinated with primary schools to propagate the skills of participating in safe traffic to more than 900 students through the form of exchange, questions and answers and situational practice.
Meanwhile, in Ca Mau, nearly 900 students of the Continuing Education Center were disseminated the provisions of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, guided situation handling skills and signed a commitment to comply with the law when participating in traffic.
4. Localities strengthen traffic safety before the rainy season
Facing the risk of prolonged heavy rain, many localities and road management units have actively checked the drainage system, taluy, bridge and other locations where landslides often occur to limit the risk of traffic jams when the weather is bad.
The transport sector also advises people to monitor weather information, limit movement through flooded and landslide areas and comply with the instructions of functional forces in case of traffic diversion.
