On October 29, 2025, road traffic on many routes in Vietnam recorded notable incidents: from highway accidents to landslides causing congestion, along with traffic adjustments in major cities to serve drills and handle emergency situations. 1. Accident on Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway – 5 injured
At around 2am at Km 9 + 540 in Da Nang city, a passenger bus with license plate 36F-009.xx traveling on the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway collided with the back of a moving/stopped truck (license plate unknown). The accident injured 5 people, the driver was trapped in the cabin — rescuers used hydraulic equipment to get people out. 
→ The cause is currently under investigation.
2. Traffic adjustment in the center of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City to serve the rescue drill
From October 29, the road section from Le Loi Street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia (Sai Gon Ward) will be adjusted to serve the fire fighting and rescue drill at the Saigon Centre building. Alternative routes have been announced for people to choose to avoid the used section. 
3. New slope landslides cause traffic jams on the Ho Chi Minh Road in the Central region
From 7am to 9:30am on October 29, at some sections of the Ho Chi Minh Road, 4 positive slope landslides occurred, causing traffic to be completely blocked. 
4. Responding to rain, floods and inundation in many places - Police forces support people to overcome difficulties
In Da Nang City, early in the morning of October 29, due to heavy rain and flooding in low-lying areas, many people were trapped. The Traffic Police of the City Police deployed an emergency response plan, stuck to traffic checkpoints, and evacuated people from dangerous areas.

• The serious accident on the Da Nang-Quang Ngai Expressway shows that: although the expressway is of high standards, it still poses great risks when trucks/passenger buses collide, especially if it happens at night or when there are few people on the road.
• The landslide on the Ho Chi Minh road is a clear demonstration that natural disasters/heavy rain can still cause major obstacles to road traffic, even on important routes. Timely clearance and warning are essential.

• The activities of the police and traffic police in Da Nang during the flood show their rescue role, which is an important part of ensuring traffic safety in special conditions — this should be replicated.

• During floods, inundation or landslides, people should limit travel if not absolutely necessary; If forced to go, monitor information from the management agency, avoid going alone to dangerous areas.
• Management agencies need to continue to review highways, national highways, areas prone to landslides or areas that have been flooded; quickly place warning signs, regulate traffic, and restore affected roads and slopes.
