To implement 6 projects to upgrade and expand national highways, the Vietnam Road Administration has requested the Ministry of Transport to prepare and deploy.
The Road Administration of Vietnam has just sent a written request to the Ministry of Transport to assign the task of preparing and implementing a number of investment and development projects of transport infrastructure.
The proposal of the Road Administration of Vietnam includes 6 projects, including the project of upgrading and expanding National Highway 1 and Ho Chi Minh road from Ca Mau City to Dat Mui; as well as the project of upgrading and expanding the section connecting Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway with IC9 interchange of Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway.
Ongoing projects include: strengthening and expanding the B49 overpass on the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway on the national highway 10; building an overpass at the intersection between national highway 10 and district road 31, Hai Phong city; to renovate and expand the Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi expressway; upgrading and expanding national highway 15 through Hoa Binh and Thanh Hoa province - subproject 1 focuses on upgrading the road section from Km0 to Km20.
The Department of Roads of Vietnam informed that, in the past time, the department has been assigned by the Ministry of Transport to prepare for investment and manage the implementation of a number of projects such as: Vietnam Road Asset Management, Investment Projects. construction of bridges for people's livelihood and local property management, the project of 45 bridges in the Central and Central Highlands, the repair project of Thang Long bridge.
All of the above projects have been implemented by the Road Administration of Vietnam from the time of investment preparation, project formulation, construction management to the handover stage and put into use. These projects are also highly appreciated by donors such as the World Bank and JICA for their quality and progress
The projects in the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021 - 2025 period have been completed by the Vietnam Road Administration and have been approved for investment by the Ministry of Transport. Among them, there is a project to renovate and upgrade NH31 from Km2400 to Km44+900 in Bac Giang province, a project to renovate and upgrade NH7, and a project to renovate and upgrade NH14E.
Among the medium-term public investment projects in the 2021-2025 period, the National Highway 31 renovation and upgrade project is one of the first approved and commenced projects by the Ministry of Transport. This project was scheduled to be completed in 2024, but construction is now moving quickly and is expected to be completed in 2023, a year faster than originally planned.
Currently, the Ministry of Transport is moving into a phase of strong focus to implement highway construction projects and other key projects in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025, with a large volume of construction work. At the same time, the Government is focusing on making proposals and implementing investment for a number of projects to develop connected transport infrastructure to ensure the efficiency in the exploitation of works.
