More than 98% of the ground for the Hau Giang - Ca Mau expressway has been handed over cleanly, under the construction project of the North - South expressway. On March 23, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet, led the delegation to check the site clearance progress for the component project of the Hau Giang - Ca Mau section at Thoi Binh district (Ca Mau).
During the inspection, Mr. Viet suggested that the site clearance must be done fully and according to the process. The contractor must also apply policies to ensure a better life for people after moving to a new place, especially in terms of production and life stabilization.
Mr. Viet also requested that, in April 2023, to basically complete the handover of premises and infrastructure for the Project. The contractor should pay attention to fully implement temporary residence procedures to ensure security and order during the construction process.
According to Chairman of H. Thoi Binh People's Committee, Mr. Ly Minh Vung, the expressway project will pass through Thoi Binh, Tan Phu, and Ho Thi Ky communes with a length of 21.9 km and affect 502 households and 2 organizations. area of 140 hectares. Currently, the handover of clean premises has reached over 98%.
The additional section of the route connecting Vo Van Kiet road (connecting the Southern Coastal Corridor road) to NH1 has a length of 16.6 km. The total cost of site clearance in the province has been approved is 675.60 billion.
For the route connecting to National Highway 1, the site clearance plan for 115 households has been approved, with an area of 14.23 ha, an amount of VND 38.49 billion. Up to this point, 79/115 households have been paid 28.77 billion VND, 36 households have not been paid for site clearance and the remaining land area is 0.9 ha. However, Mr. Nhan said that the locality has planned and will continue to lobby to complete the resolution of this issue as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the contractor has implemented 8 road construction and 1 bridge construction, and is mobilizing more manpower and machinery to speed up the construction progress.
The East North-South Expressway Project was built with the aim of reducing heavy load on National Highway 1, and at the same time connecting the central and southern provinces of Vietnam. It is expected that, when completed, this expressway will help reduce the travel time from Hau Giang to Ca Mau to about 1 hour 30 minutes, creating favorable conditions for economic development and tourism in the region.
