Highway 80, the longest cable suspended bridge of Vietnam, is over 200 km long with the starting point of My Thuan Bridge (Vinh Long Province). It was built in three years from 1997 to 2000 over Tien River, and connects provinces of Tien Giang and Vinh Long. The structure is located approximately 125 km from HCMC on Route 1A and has a central 350m span cable stayed bridge providing a 37.5m high navigation clearance for shipping to Phnom Penh in Cambodia.
To reach Long Xuyen City (An Giang Province), drivers go across My Thuan Bridge, then follow Highway 80 to the western Tien River. After that, you will go through Sa Duc Town, lai Vung Town, Lap Vo Town (Dong Thap Province) before going toward the east to Long Xuyen City on Hau River.
After unloading goods in An Giang Province, drivers continue to move past rice paddy fields of Vinh Thanh District to reach Can Tho City. Then, you move along the western coast to pass Mong Tho Town before reaching Rach Gia City, Kien Giang Province. To get to the final delivery destination of Ha Tien International Border Gate, drivers must go through towns of Hon Dat, Kien Luong and Ha Tien (Kien Giang Province). Ha Tien Town is 7 km away from Ha Tien Border, which used to be called Xa Xia Border.
