Highway 63 has become familiar with Transport 24h Co.,Ltd’s drivers who specialize in shipping to Kien Giang and Ca Mau. Driver Nguyen Xuan Bach said: “Highway 63 is the best route to transport goods from Kien Giang to Ca Mau. You will go through 4 districts of Kien Giang, namely Chau Thanh, An Bien, U Minh Thuong, Vinh Thuan before reaching Thoi Binh District (Ca Mau Province). Finally, trucks will stop in Ca Mau City to unload goods”.
Driver Hoang The Anh continued: “We used to go through Tac Cau Ferry, which crosses Cai Lon and Cai Be River when going along Highway 63. It took about 3 hour to drive from Ca Mau to the Ferry in the day and only about a hour at night. Moreover, drivers need to control their speed and move on the right land to ensure the traffic safety and stay away from unnecessary troubles”.
Cai Be and Cai Lon Bridge have been in use since 2014, making it more convenient to transport commodities and passengers and reduce Tac Cau Ferry’s pressure for traffic. However, as being a main road of Kien Giang, Ca Mau and U Minh Thuong, there is a huge volume of vehicles running on this route. Therefore, some sections of Highway 63 have been degraded, especially in An Bien District and U Minh Thuong District (Kien Giang Province). To curb this situation, the Department of Transport of Kien Giang Province has invested more than 13 billion VND to upgrade and repair Highway 63’s sections, and the renovation is expected to finish in the end of June 2016.
Drivers who usually move through Kien Giang and Ca Mau have expressed their happiness about the upgrading project because this will ensure the safety for not only drivers but also for goods and vehicles. Moreover, it will stimulate the development of logistics firms to create more revenues for companies and improve their employees’ living standard.
