To ship commodities from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to Dong Thap Muoi, Long An, drivers will go along National Route 1A and Highway 62. Goods are transported to final destinations with safety and high efficiency.
Freight transportation services from Hanoi and HCMC to districts of Dong Thap Muoi (Long An Province) has increasingly grown in both quality and safety. Transport 24h Co., Ltd receives clients’ shipping orders to Hanoi and HCMC with four trips per day. Along Route 1A, trucks will go to the interchange with District 2 (Tan An City, Long An Province). They then will join in Highway 62 and continue to dispatch commodities through districts and towns of Dong Thap Muoi as follows: Thu Thua, Thach Hoa, Tan Thach, Moc Hoa before unloading goods at Binh Hiep Border Gate (Kien Tuong Town).
The freight transport route from Hanoi to Tan An City is about 1660 km long, and the route from Tan An City to Binh Hiep Border Gate (Kien Tuong) is over 75 km. It takes from 3 to 4 days to complete a one way journey and about a week with a north south transport trip.
The route leading from HCMC to Tan An City (Long An Province) along Route 1A is about 53 km long with an hour drive on HMC- Trung Luong Expressway. The total length of this route is about 120 km with the transport time of 3 to 4 hours.
Dong Thap Muoi includes three provinces of Tien Giang, Dong Thap and Long An, the largest one among three provinces. Binh Hiep Border Gat (Kien Tuong Town) is located on the border of Vietnam and Cambodia. Vu Huu Thuong, a driver who is very familiar with the transport route from HCMC to Binh Hiep Border Gate (Kien Tuong Town, Long An Province) said: “I have shipped goods along this route for about 10 years. My family members and friends sometimes ask me to buy foreign wine and electric items here. Binh Hiep Border Gate has a wide range of commodities including household appliances, food, electric items, most of which are mostly made in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia with reasonable prices and eye-catching packages. Customers usually choose to buy foreign wine and electric items for their cheap prices and good quality”.
Tuong also said: “Because being a key route for business exchanges between Vietnam and Cambodia, there is an enormous volume of vehicles running on Highway 62, partly leading to a decrease in the quality of traffic infrastructure in the area. Congestion often happens on some sections of the route, meaning that goods transport journeys are also affected with longer delivery time and low efficiency.
To meet freight and passenger transport demands and stimulate the economic and social development of Long An Province and Dong Thap Muoi, the Ministry of Traffic and Transportation has approved the project to upgrade and renovate Highway 62. After the completion of the project, goods transport journeys through Dong Thap Muoi will be more convenient so logistics firms will also benefit due to shortened delivery time, cost savings and greater safety for people, goods and vehicles.
