After unloading goods in HCMC, I would return to Hanoi. That is the first time I have ever been to Cuu Long Delta River so I felt really excited to visit Can Tho, Ben Tre, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Long An, Soc Trang, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh and Vinh Long”.
After transporting goods from Hanoi to HCMC, Duong spent one night taking a break there, then continued to move from HCMC to Vinh Long and Ben Tre. According to advice of the south’s veteran drivers, Duong chose to run on HCMC- Trung Luong Expressway, then followed National Route 1A to reach Vinh Long. From there, he ran along Highway 57 to Dinh Khao Ferry (crossing Co Chien River) to get to Lach Market, Ben Tre Province. It takes about one hour and a half to move from Vinh Long City to Lach Market (Ben Tre) which is famous for its wide range of tropical fruits such as durian Cai Mon, dragon fruit and so forth. Duong said: “That is the first time I have seen a real durian tree when I visited Bay Thao Durian Orchard which located near Vinh Bac –Vinh Nam Flower Road. The owner even gave me a durian as a souvenir. From that trip, I realized that Vietnam has many beautiful places which you must visit once in your life”.
After unloading commodities at Lach Market, Ben Tre, Duong returned to HCMC to rest and receive new orders which need transporting to Hanoi. However, memories for Cai Mon Garden and the delicious smell of its durian will imprint in his mind for a very long time./.
