There are a number of routes to ship commodities from Hanoi or HCMC to Dong Nai but if trucks will have to unload goods in Ba Ria Town, drivers may choose the Highway 56 to move from Ba Ria Town (Ba Ria Vung Tau Province) to Long Khanh Commune (Dong Nai Province). This is only a 50 km route starting from Hoa Long Interchange (Hoa Long Commune, Ba Ria Town) to Tan Phong Interchange (Xuan Tan Commune, Long Khanh Town. Highway 56 runs through Chau Duc District (Ba Ria Vung Tau Province) and Cam My District (Dong Nai Province).
Ba Ria Vung Tau Province has many medium and small sized industrial zones and Cai Mep- Thi Vai Port System (in Tan Thanh District) so there are a huge number of business activities. Moreover, Highway 56 plays an important role to connect two provinces of key economic zone, namely Dong Nai and Ba Ria- Vung Tau so the volumes of vehicles running on this route are rising in quality and quantity.
To shorten the transport route from Ba Ria Vung Tau to Dong Nai to provinces of the southern key economic zone, the South Central and Central Highlands. The construction of Highway 56 is to provide an alternative road running outside Ba Ria City, ensure the traffic safety and link directly with Long Son Oil Refinery Complex. Therefore, it has a vital role to play in the social and economic growth of Ba Ria Vung Tau Province and the South region.
There is an increase in the number of trucks transporting goods from Ba Ria Vung Tau to Dong Nai on this route. Frequent congestion occurs on some sections of the route, especially the one from Tan Phong Interchange to Snake Pass.
When running on the route, drivers must comply with traffic rules, signs and keep the legal speed of 60 km/h in residential areas. The section going through Snake Pass was upgraded and paved with asphalt. However, drivers should always pay careful attention to two road sides and control their speed to ensure the safety for people, commodities and vehicles moving on the route./.
