Vantai24h – Date 03/23/2016 – Highway 34 is a main route connecting two north eastern provinces of Cao Bang and Ha Giang with the total length of about 260 km.
Highway 34 runs through Cao Bang and Ha Giang Province. In Cao Bang Province, it starts in the city at which National Route 1 intersects with Highway 2. The route runs through western districts, namely Nguyen Binh, Bao Lac, Bao Lam (in Cao Bang) and Bac Me (Ha Giang). It ends at Tran Phu District, Ha Giang City. Goods will be transported from Hanoi to Cao Bang City, then to the final destination of Ha Giang.
Drivers who ship goods from Hanoi to Cao Bang usually choose one of three options as follows:
The first one is to start from the inner city of Hanoi to Thanh Tri Bridge. Then, followig Hanoi- Thai Nguyen Expressway, you get to Bac Can Province. From there, drivers runs straight on Highway 4 to reach Cao Bang City. This route is favoured by many drivers because of the high quality road surface of the expressway. However, before embarking on a journey, drivers should refill their vehicles’ tanks and prepare necessary tools and personal stuff because there are no petrol stations or restaurants on the road. You can take a break at Phu Luong District, Thai Nguyen Province.
The second one is go along the old highway 3: Hanoi – Thai Nguyen- Bac Kan- Cao Bang. One thing to keep in mind is that when running in Pho Yen District (Thai Nguyen), drivers should go at the right speed to easily cope with unexpected situations. The main reason is that there are a large number of vehicles running on this route, especially heavy trucks. Moreover, you also must encounter mountainous passes such as Giang Pass, Gio Pass, Ngan Son Pass, Cao Bac Pass, Tai Sin Ho Pass. If you are a young driver, it is highly recommended to find the information of this route in advance and driver slowly to ensure the safety.
The final option is running along National Route 1A toward Lang Son, then follow Highway 4 and go through Dog Khe, That Khe and Cao Bang. However, this route is only suitable for transport journeys with the final destinations in Lang Son. This route includes many narrow roads with a high volume of vehicles so drivers had better accumulate their driving skills. .
It is easy to ship goods from Cao Bang City to Ha Giang City. The section of Cao Bang to Nguyen Binh has a high quality of road surface, but the one from Nguyen Binh to Ha Giang is not as good as the one of Cao Bang to Nguyen Binh. The quality of the road from Meo Vac to Bao Lam has declined for the past few years so drivers need to pay more attention when running on this road to bring the safety and high economic efficiency to their journeys./.
