Vantai24h – Date 29/02/2016 – Starting a new week with the transport journey from Me Linh (Hanoi) to Phuc Yen (Vinh Phuc Province) through Highway 23, driver Nguyen Dinh Dung checks the truck carefully before setting off to ensure the safety and efficiency for the journey.

Speed is one of the important factors affecting the level of safety for the journey when joining the traffic. However, in the reality, there are many drivers who usually break the speed rule partly because they are too confident in their driving skills. Dung said: “It is quite hard to control the vehicle and handle with unexpected situations when driving with high speed, but it does not mean that you must go with slow speed. If the speed limit of the highway is between 60 km/h and 80 km/h, you can drive with the legal speed of 60 km/h. However, going with 60km/h will be slow compared to 80km/h and in most cases other vehicles will turn on their headlights for overtaking.
With each transport journey, drivers will choose suitable routes with the shortest distance and highly economic efficiency, after which drivers will choose a reasonable speed. In addition to the speed limit (for example: 50 km/h in inner cities and 80km/h in suburbs), drivers should run lower than the speed limit by 5-7 km/h. With narrow roads with high population density, the speed of under 20 km/h is appropriate. Going in the downtown, the recommended speed is under 50 km/h and in the outskirts, the speed should be under 80km/h to ensure the safety for humans and vehicles.
Running with stable speed means that drivers do not rise or decline speed abruptly. When seeing an obstacle in front, some drivers should start to decrease their speed as soon as possible. This will help driver to have more time to control the speed and cope with potential situations. Therefore, if there may be hazardous situations such as pedestrians, motorbikes and so forth, you should put your foot on the pedal in advance and observe carefully to find out effective ways.
Keeping an appropriate speed will help drivers cope with situations more easily when shipping goods on the road. Do not use the brake suddenly. It is better to decrease your speed gradually, leading to the protection for your vehicle’s functions. Besides, remember to alert other vehicles by using your headlights so that they can decrease their speed and the risks of accident can be reduced.
Transport 24h Co.Ltd would like to share with drivers some factors when controlling speed as follows:
Check out the traction: this means that you need to pay attention to your tires and traction between tires and road surface. If tires and road surface are in good quality, the safety of traction is ensured. However, in the transport process, there are many factors affecting road surface and tires such as slippery road surfaces, worn tires.

Check out the inertia: drivers can examine the inertia when driving their vehicles. Every time you brake or curve, the inertia will keep the vehicles moving straight. The faster you drive, the higher the inertia force is. Many drivers take advantage of inertia when approaching a curve. Drivers will go back to the gear 0 and let their vehicles move until finish the curve. According to Dung, this will ensure the safety on the road.
Moreover, drivers also should examine the gravity, focus and the speed when going into a curve.
Transport 24h Co.Ltd hopes that with the above information, drivers can equip themselves with more driving skills when transporting goods on the road. Thanks to that, each journey will bring the high efficiency and economic values for drivers and logistics companies./.
