Vantai24h – Date 02/26/2016 – In recent years, the southern economic zone has developed significantly so Transport 24h Co.Ltd has also received a large number of transport orders from Ho Chi Minh City to the border gate of Moc Bai (Tay Ninh Province).
Highway 22 running through Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province is a main traffic route which plays an important role in stimulating the economic development of southern provinces. Due to the high demand for goods transportation from the western and eastern areas to Cambodia, the capacity of goods shipment of logistic companies also rises. Highway 22A is a road linking Ho Chi Minh City and the international border gate of Moc Bai (Tay Ninh Province). This is a business road between Vietnam and Cambodia with the length of nearly 60 km. It is also a part of the project of Xuyen A Road between Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Phnom Penh (Thailand). Highway 22 starts at the intersection of An Suong (Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City), goes through Cu Chi District, Trang Bang District (Tay Ninh Province) and finishes at the border gate of Moc Bai (Loi Thuan Commune, Ben Cau District, Tay Ninh Province).
Being a vital traffic route which runs toward northwest of Ho Chi Minh City through districts of Tay Ninh Province, Moc Bai Border Gate, Cambodia and ASEAN countries. Therefore, in recent years, the volume of goods and business exchange activities in Ho Chi Minh City, the West and East Region has increased considerably. The quality of road surface here has deteriorated gradually due to the high volume of traffic. Besides, roads are quite narrow with a few lanes, which can not meet the growing demand of local residents. At rush hours, there are usually heavy congestion in the northwest gate of An Suong. Therefore, the upgrade and expansion of Highway 22 is very necessary and needs to be implemented immediately.
At the end of December 2015, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued recommendation to Prime Minister so that it was approved to call for investment and start the project of upgrade and expansion of Highway 22. The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also proposed the Ministry of Traffic and Transportation using only one investor and installing one tollbooth.
Highway 22 also has another secondary road called 22B with the length of 80 km. At Go Dau Town, Go Dau District, this road will lead to Xa Mat Border Gate near the border line between Vietnam and Cambodia. It is considered as a skeleton of Tay Ninh Province’s north- south traffic route which has a significant role in developing the economy, society and ensuring the national defense. Highway 22B is also under the project of upgrade and expansion to exploit more efficiently Xuyen A Road. Thanks to that, the goods transportation between Vietnam and Cambodia through Xa Mat International Border Gate will be more convenient. In the future, the renovation and upgrade of the main traffic route will stimulate and support the business exchanges between two countries, leading to the sustainable progress of Tay Ninh Province’s northern districts and the country./.
