Vantai24h – Date 12/09/2015 – The process of transporting goods on highway 1A starts in Lang Son Province, then go through 31 provinces and cities and ends in Ca Mau Province.

Highway 1A is a part of the national highway 1 with the total length of 2200 kilometers linking the north and the south of the country. Drivers start in Lang Son Province, then go straight to the south and end in Ca Mau Province.
In the north, Highway 1A goes through 6 provinces and cities including Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Ha Noi, (Phu Ly) Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, (Vinh) Nghe An, Ha Tinh, (Dong Hoi)Quang Binh, (Dong Ha) Quang Tri, (Hue) Thua Thien Hue.
Drivers then reach provinces of the central coast. They are Da Nang, (Tam Ky )Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, (Quy Nhơn) Binh Đinh, (Tuy Hoa) Phu Yn, (Nha Trang) Khanh Hoa, (Phan Rang – Thap Cham) Ninh Thuân và (Phan Thiet) Binh Thuan.
After going through the central coast, it is the south of the country. Highway 1A runs through 5 districts of Dong Nai Province. They are Xuan Loc, Long Khanh, Thong Nhat, Trang Bom and Bien Hoa. Next, drivers arrive in Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, (Tan An) Long An, (My Tho) Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Can Th, (Nga Bay) Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu và Ca Mau.
There are only 2 main route including Highway 1A and Ho Chi Minh Road across the country. With the total length of 2260 kilometers, Highway 1A goes through 400 bridges, many of which are large ones such as Thanh Tri Bridge (Ha Noi), My Thuan Bridge (Tien Giang) and Can Tho Bridge. In addition , the highway also runs across many rivers such as Ky Cung River, Thuong River, Cau River, Duong River, Hong River, Day River, MA River, Lam River, Gianh River, Nhat Le River, Ben Hai River, Huong River, Cau Do River, Thu Bon River, Tra Bing River, Tra Khu River, Con River, Da Rang River, Dinh River, Cai Rier, Dong Nai River, Sai Gon River, Vam Co Dong River, Vam Co Tay River, Tien River, Hau River…
The national highway 1A is currently in the process of upgrade and expansion to meet the increasing demands for goods transport and travelling of the country. Due to the incomplete construction, driver Hoang Tuan Tai advises his colleagues to pay more attention to the use of brake, proper gear changing to suit to road conditions. Running on the highway at night is more difficult because of the limited visibility caused by headlights of other vehicles so drivers should run with slow speed to ensure the safety. Young drivers should follow other coaches or trucks in order not to get lost on new roads. Tai also says: “Drivers of coaches usually go with high speed or overtake other vehicles recklessly, especially on bad or unfinished roads. Therefore, we should not overtake and let them go first to keep safety”.
The upgrade and expansion of the national highway 1A bring valuable benefits to stimulte not only the economic and cultural development of the country but also the business of logistics companies. Transport firms themselves should be aware of the highway’s values to enhance their responsibility in the process of transportation to maintain the traffic infrastructure and the safety for humans, goods and vehicles.
