Vantai24h – Date 11/06/2015 – The long distance transport of goods from Hanoi to Tra Vinh may cause some damages to car engines due to excessive operation and heat. If car engines do not work properly, there may be some potential risks which can affect transport schedules of drivers.
Tran Duc Son- one of Transport 24h Co.Ltd’s old-timer drivers shared with us his experience when cars suddenly stop moving on the road.
There are some signs showing some problems of car engine and you should pay attention to them every time you sit in the cabin. Cars’ air conditioning may suddenly stop, car headlights weaken and the car speed decreases gradually. At that time, drivers should immediately turn on the hazard light and find way to stop cars safely on the right of the road. After that, drivers should seek supports from their acquaintances or other drivers on the road to tow their car so that cars may restart their engines temporarily. Here are steps you can follow:
Step 1: keep a safe distance between two vehicles. The minimum distance is 5 meters with ‘rescue’ car in front and the car with dead battery behind. Then, use a long cable and tie strongly the rear of the car in front with the head of the car behind.
Step 2: In the car with dead battery, drivers should turn off all equipment using the battery’ electricity, stereo, radio, lights and so forth. Next, turn the key driver into ignition mode and get into gear 4. Step strongly on the clutch (this action is called taper cut and equivalent to gear 0).
Step 3: the rescue car start its engine and move slowly to two the car behind. When driver of the car behind can feel the movement, he needs to keep the same gear and loose the clutch slowly. When the car shakes, it means that it can restart its engine.
Step 4: after that, the car with dead battery asks the rescue car to stop as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the car behind should move to the left to stay away from the rear of the car in front
Step 5: When the car is restarted, drivers must not turn on sub equipment such as radio, air conditioning. Then, both cars stop on the road.
Step 6: after that, drivers turn into the gear 0 and raise speed slowly. Repeat this action some times to recharge the battery.
Step 7: take advantage of the temporary movement of the car, drivers need to get to the nearest car repair shops to check and fix problems.
Potential risks could never be predicted so the most important thing for drivers is to keep eyes on their vehicles and remember regular maintenance. They also need to accumulate experience, taking advice from other drivers so when there are any problems with cars, they can inform their manger on time and figure out how to fix problems. Briskness and flexibility are main characteristics any drivers of Tranport 24h Co.Ltd need to have to be able to accompany with you on all routes of the country.
