Vantai24h – Date 08/25/2015 - After receiving the supervisor’s order to dispatch goods through a long distance from Hanoi to Can Tho, driver Nguyen Tien Thu adjusted excitingly the rear-view mirror of his truck.

Seeing him doing that, I just wondered why he had to adjust the mirror because this truck was allocated for him only by the company and as the result, nobody could remove and change the mirror’s visibility. Thu explained slowly to me that in the driving process, the mirror may change its position due to impacts of some subjective factors. The reason might be uneven roads or some other things. Therefore, before setting off each journey, Thu would   check carefully all sides of the truck through the mirror. If drivers can not observe the car’s entire back through the mirror, he must adjust it to the right position.

        

Rear-view mirrors are considered as the third eye of driver, so they are one of indispensable components which ensure safety for vehicles and drivers. To provide drivers with clear visibility, rear-view mirrors should be maintained a fixed position. Adjusting the mirrors is very important before each journey. Before joining the traffic, from turning on the engine to turning it off, drivers should observe everything through the rear-view mirror only to ensure safety, efficiency and follow traffic law.

After driving skillfully, looking through the rear-view mirror has become my driving habit and I also decided to install the mirror for my motorbike. Through this experience, I realize that car producers always consider all of the cars’ components and their functions. They have their own importance”. His honest though is shared by other drivers. The benefits of rear-view mirror are undeniable. Even some veteran drivers confessed that the mirror saved them from dangers many times. They may be simple situations like prevention of scratches or hazardous ones on the road.

        

To maintain the clear visibility of rear-view mirrors, drivers should adjust them separately. With the right and left ones, adjusting the mirrors must ensure that drivers can observe their car back clearly. With the center mirror, you should adjust it to obtain the best of possible back visibility.

In reality, a large number of drivers have subjective thoughts not to observe the mirror or not to avoid the cars behind on purpose.
