Vantai24h – Date 08/15/2015 - In June 2015, the road from kilometer 947 to 987 of Highway 1 was officially put into operation with four straight, modern lanes, which makes it more convenient and efficient to transport goods between Hanoi and Quang Nam.
Province of Quang Nam is located in the middle of Vietnam. It has huge potential to develop tourism industry with many famous attractions like the Old City of Hoi An, Cua Dai Beach and so forth. Therefore, in the recent years, infrastructure for traffic of Quang Nam has made much great progress. Roads from the province center to rural areas and other provinces has been extended and upgraded. The part of Highway 1going through Quang Nam was put into use, which means that public’s growing demand for transport is partially met and that the traffic system in the area of coastal Southern Middle in particular and around the country in general.

Although this road was upgraded, expanded and paved recently, there are only two lanes on each side. Therefore, drivers should consider carefully before driving trucks to overtake other vehicles from the same direction. Due to the lack of lane signs and different speed limits to different vehicles, many drivers find it difficult and stressful to join the traffic on this highway. In reality, many drivers still face unexpected situations. For example, the driver wants to overtake from the left but another vehicle is slowly following the lane so he can not overtake it. If he wants to get out of this situation, he must overtake from the right illegally. The above situation requires drivers’ patience. When safety is ensured, the front vehicle will actively get to the right lane, making it convenient for following cars to overtake.
In addition, drivers also should pay much more attention when driving on this highway at night as some parts of concrete center divider have not been installed reflective markers. The condition is much more difficult when there is only light system on one side of the road but very scarce so the level of visibility is very limited. Hoang Cong Hieu, a driver specializing in transporting between Hanoi and Quang Nam said: “Drivers going on this highway, especially at night should keep the medium speed to be able to control unexpected risks.”
Hopefully, in the coming time, the Department of Traffic and Transportation will introduce suitable regulations to help drivers and vehicles joining this highway. Besides, the regulations also create convenient conditions for residents of Quang Nam and other provinces all the country to travel on this road./.
