Vantai24h – Date 08//2015 - In the journey of transporting donated goods from Hanoi to Tuyen Quang, our drivers had an opportunity to talk with comedy artist Le Hong Giang, who is named “Skinny Giang” by the TV audience.

Through the TV screen, “Skinny” Giang is famous as an actor and artist. He often appears in the comedy series and brings smiles to the audience. The gap between TV screen and real life is quite large because we usually do not have a chance to talk to famous artist in reality. However, it was fortunate for us to meet him in person and listen to his stories of life, job and passion in this charity journey.

It was quite a surprise for us to see him in real life since his appearance is the same as characters he has played on TV. It is a “Skinny” Giang who is loved with the images of kind and honest farmers. He leads a simple life full with Vietnamese country symbols such as gardens, polls and trees. As far as we knew from his stories, instead of busy and noisy life of cities, he chose suburbs to live on and practise farming. After stressful days of work, vegetables garden and fish pool are the places which can help him to relieve pressures of life. Doing what he wants, take care of the family by himself and enjoy achievements are his greatest pleasure.

In the middle of the journey, we stopped by a café and until that time, we had a chance to talk to Giang. Through his humorous communication, his stories all are very meaningful and intriguing to us. Artists often have rich knowledge of lands, local residents and cultures due to their career requirements. He shares to us his opinions on Tuyen Quang – one of the provinces which he has visited:  “Through journeys, I realize that our compatriots in many places are suffering a low standard of living. They have to struggle with daily lives and regardless of their hard working, they still lack foods and clothes to survive. Through my friends, I knew about this charity journey, then I signed up immediately. I want to bring some presents and joys to local residents, Children here are at the same age as my son. Seeing their impoverished lives, my heart ached. They are more unfortunate than their peers to suffer coldness, starvation and shortage of necessary things in their childhood. Joining this journey, I want to bring warmth to their hearts.”

He brought joys and smiles to warm humans’ hearts and mountainous area with his performances and funny sentences. It is a true that “a smile is worth ten of medicines”. This is a good medicine to keep the mind comfortable and fresh so that innocent children here can continue study more devotedly than before to build strong grounds for their personal lives later./.
