Due to cars’ regular operation outdoors, weather is one of the direct factors affecting the car quality. In the summer, high temperature and hot air contribute to the increase of temperature in the car. It is the main reason causing problems to the car and reducing vehicle’s life span in the long term. In addition to regular maintenance, drivers need to pay attention to other simple ways to minimize the external factors for the cars.

The simplest way many drivers use today to keep the car temperature down is to use insulating films stuck to windows. They may keep the vehicles cooler because they prevent sunlight of 30-60% and the inside temperature from leaking too fast when using air-conditioning. The car engines operate less, so the fuel savings will be better.
      

Sunlight not only increases temperature in the cabin but it also affects the external parts of cars and in the long run, it may lead to the color fading. Therefore, drivers should try to find somewhere to park their vehicles, may be under trees to partly stay away from sunlight’s harmful effects. Besides, car cabins need to keep clear. Do not put so many things in the car such as blankets, pillows which may accumulate heat.
            

Another factor to keep in mind is how to use air-conditioning properly and effectively. High temperature weather requires air-conditioning to work with higher capacity than usual. However, this may be not an effective method of utilization because it makes car batteries work in less time and use more fuel. Drivers also should check the cooling system regularly and add more water when necessary.
