Vantai24 – 07/18/2015 - Located 1,400 kilometers away from the capital city of Hanoi, Dak Lak Province today has transformed profoundly with many achievements. Thanks to the progress of reform, the route for commodity transport from Dak Lak to the capital is also improved, contributing to the locally economic development.
Coming back from the two-way shipping trip to Dak Lak, Mr.Dung brought some pockets of fragrant coffee as gifts to his colleagues at the company in the Monday morning. Everyone looked so curious and excited to hear about his journey. Dung is a new driver of Transport 24h and the transport trip to Dak Lak was his first time behind the wheel after joining the company’s workforce. The board of directors allocated Dung and a veteran driver who specializes in driving from Hanoi to the Highlands region to this specific transport route. According to Dung, he had chances not only to learn many skills and experience to handle situations but also to enrich his knowledge about the Highlands’ residents in general and Dak Lak’ ones in particular.
Accompanied Dung on that journey is Mr. Do Viet Tay. He knows almost everything about the Highlands’ terrain, he remembers from every major, concrete-paved road, red-soil path leading to remote districts to accommodations, hotels with beautiful views. Dung was so happy to having a partner like Tay because he knew that he could learn so many valuable things from the colleague.

The province of Dak Lak lies in the middle of Highlands. Buon Ma Thuot is Dak Lak’s biggest city, which is considered to be the capital of coffee. If having to mention its most distinctive culture, the first thing coming to your mind is coffee- one of specialties belonging to the Highlands. Tay tell us: “Many years ago, he did not like the flavor of coffee. However, with many impacts from work and friends, drinking coffee has become his habit. The first time he tasted this drink is when he came to Buon Ma Thuot. The city has been nationally famous for its coffee and there were no reasons to refuse this specialty on its land. It was so relieved and fresh to drink a cup of black, rich coffee at the place producing the most delicious types of coffee around the country. Everything was so attractive that he built a habit of drinking coffee every occasion he comes to this land despite his limited time. Coffee helps Tay to keep his mind conscious and strong in long-distance trips
Dung is a coffeholic but he never got the chance to taste the flavor of Buon Ma Thuot’s coffee before, so he considered this occasion as an opportunity to fulfill his wish. Dung says: “I have drunk many kinds of coffee but I’ve never seen real coffee trees and watched how coffee was processed. This journey broadened my horizon. Tay showed me coffee forests in Buon Ma Thuot. Local people told us that typical advantages of natural conditions there such as soil, climate stimulated the growth of coffee to produce coffee seeds with high quality and distinctive flavor”.
After one- day stay in Buon Ma Thuot, on the next day’s early morning, the truck continued on its journey back to Hanoi, finishing half of the assigned workload. On the way home, the truck had to pass the weight check at the weigh station. Tay says: “ Recently, Dak Lak authorities has started controlling strictly weight of trucks but we, drivers always keep in mind to follow all the rules of traffic lanes and weight to prevent damages to ourselves and for the company.”
Every journey is a chance for drivers to practice their skills. Knowledge and experience Dung accumulated from the two-way transport trips from Hanoi to Dak Lak will become his motivation to continue following his path and working closely with Transport 24h.
